Project Description

CHAPEL IS A SACRED PLACE. HARNESSING NATURAL DAYLIGHT FOR ITS BEAUTY IS A TASK IF DONE CORRECTLY, CAN BE INTERPRETED IN MANY MEANINGFUL WAYS. IN A WAY ITS A GRATITUDE TOWARDS GODS GIVING. THE HORIZONTAL LINE ON THE WALL BEHIND THE ALTAR REPRESENTS THE LINE BETWEEN THE LESSER WORLD WE LIVE IN AND THE WORLD UP ABOVE, FROM WHICH GOD’S COMMAND EXTRUDED. ITS PLACEMENT BEHIND THE PREACHER LOOKS AS IF GOD USES THE PREACHER AS MEDIUM FOR HIS GOSPEL. THE RECTANGULAR STRUCTURE ABOVE EVER SO SLIGHTLY ILLUMINATE THE ROOM WITH INDIRECT LIGHT SYMBOLIZE HEAVEN, A PLACE SEEMS UNREACHABLE FROM OUR GRIP.
